Navigating the EraseAS Online Community

An easy guide to finding your way around EraseAS.com

 

Welcome to EraseAS! Here you will find hundreds of opinions, ideas and discoveries contributed by everyone from physicians to "regular Joes”. Come here to learn, meet others like you and give your unique perspective on AS.

Our online community members are protected from spammers, advertisers and fraudulent information with our first-class moderating system and member privacy policy. If the EraseAS administration feels you are exploiting the purpose of this forum, you will be banned from the site.

Join Us & Login

  1. Become a registered user by clicking the orange Join Us! button on the home page. If you are already a registered user, click the blue Login button to log in. By logging in, you can participate in our global Online Community.
  2. Join Us button Login Button

    After clicking the Join Us! button, you will be taken to our New User page. Fill in the required information

    • Your User Name will be the name other members see and recognize when you are online.
    • Make sure to use a password you can easily remember.
    • You need to provide a valid email address so we can send you confirmation.
    • Please include where you live, your personal home page (if you have one) and the time zone you live in.
  3. Click the Register button at the bottom of the page.
  4. You will immediately be sent an email confirming your registration. Open the email and click on the provided link to verify your email address and become a certified member.
    • You will not be able to sign into EraseAS until you click on the link in your email confirmation.

    Email Verification

  5. Once you open the link, you will be taken to our Login page.
  6. Type in your user name and password and click the Forum Login button at the bottom of the page.
  7. If you can’t remember your information, click the Lost Password button at the bottom of the page. You will be sent your password after typing in your email address.
  8. Upon logging in, you will be taken to the EraseAS Online Community.

Understanding the Online Community

  • Forums are categorized under Community - General, Treatments and Research. Which forum you go to depends on what you wish to talk and learn about.
  • Within each forum are various Topics posted by members. Each topic is a themed discussion started by one member and continued by feedback from other members.
  • To enter a forum, click on the title. A list of the different topics within that forum will be displayed, along with the member who started it, how many replies have been posted and how many times the topic was viewed.
  • Click on your desired topic. The entire topic Thread (discussion between participating members) will be displayed so you can read what each member has written.
  • To see member profiles, click on their user name at the left of the post.
  • You can search for specific topics by clicking the Search link at the very top of the page.

Participating in the Forum

  • To write a question, idea, opinion, thought, answer, etc. within an existing topic, click the Post Reply button at the top or bottom of the page.
  • Write your message (called a Post). Click Post to send your message, Cancel to delete it or Preview to re-read it. The last 10 posts will be displayed at the bottom of the page so you can see who you’re replying to.
  • To reply to a specific member’s comment, click the Quote button above the person’s post. Their post will automatically appear at the top of your message so you can respond to it directly.
  • To Private Message a member a note only he or she can see, click the PM Me! button at the bottom of that person’s post.
  • To E-mail a member a message, click the E-Mail button at the bottom of that person’s post. 
  • To start your own topic, click the New Topic button at the top or bottom of the page. Write the subject of your topic and your message.

Edit your Posts

  • To edit an existing post, click the Edit button at the top of your post. You can then change your message.
  • To delete an existing post, click the Delete button at the top of your post.
  • To attach a file or picture to an existing post, click the Attach button at the top of your post.
  • You will not be able to edit/delete other members’ posts, only yours.

Members

  • To find registered members, click the Members link at the very top of the page.
  • Find the member you are looking for and click on their User Name. You will be taken to that member’s personal profile.
  • You can Private Message and E-Mail the person by clicking on the PM Me! or E-Mail me buttons at the top of their profile.

Your Profile

  • To check your profile, click the My Profile link at the very top of the page.
  • In the control panel at the left of your profile you can:
    • Check your email by clicking the Inbox link (you can also check your email by clicking on the Inbox link at the top of the page).
    • Check messages you sent to other members by clicking the Sent Items link.
    • Send a new message to a member by clicking the New Message link.
    • Change your profile content by clicking the Edit Profile link.
    • Put up a new profile picture by clicking the Modify Avatar link.
    • Create your own signature (personal signature appears at the bottom of all your posts) by clicking the Signature link.
    • Check topics you have subscribed to (are watching) by clicking the Subscribe link.
